At the trailer launch of director duo Raj-DK’s 'Farzi', Shahid Kapoor revealed that the filmmakers had first pitched the subject as a movie, eight years ago. While the studio they were planning to collaborate with is now defunct, Shahid had loved the subject. “DK felt that the storyline was too long to fit in [the runtime of 150 minutes]. I don’t think we would have been able to do justice to it,” said Sasha who is making his digital debut with Farzi. Interestingly, the thriller series also marks south star Vijay Sethupathi’s Hindi OTT debut. He shared how he accidentally bumped into Raj and DK when he went to meet 'The Family Man' actor Manoj Bajpayee. “I didn’t know they were meeting me with the intention of auditioning me. While they believed in me, I was worried about my Hindi,” said Vijay, adding that he learnt the language while working in Dubai for three years before he set out to become an actor.

About 12 years ago, Ajay Devgn first teamed up with director-actor Mahesh Manjrekar for 'Tera Mera Saath Rahein'. Since then, the two have collaborated several times as actors on films including, 'Total Dhamaal' and 'Singham Returns'. Now, Ajay is set to work with Mahesh’s daughter Saiee, who has been cast in Neeraj Pandey’s next directorial venture. Her role in the yet-untitled romantic thriller is being kept under wraps. We hear shooting is slated to begin later this month in Lucknow.

While Alia Bhatt has been up and about after she welcomed daughter Raha last November, it seems there is still some time before she resumes shooting. The actor has a song and a few scenes with Ranveer Singh left to can for mentor Karan Johar’s 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani'. We hear the filmmaker is scheduling the shoot in March. Apparently, it will be a larger-than-life track, and one of the highlights of the movie that also features Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi. Pre-production for the shoot is under-way and rehearsal plans will be finalised after Alia and Ranveer’s dates are locked.
