Uh oh… this is definitely not the kind of news we were expecting to hear. Rumours are rife that Samantha Prabhu may defer filming her portions for director-duo Raj-DK’s Citadel, or give the project a miss. Talk in Tollywood is that the Oo antava sensation is yet to overcome the health issues that have been plaguing her of late. While it is said that there is some improvement, she still needs time to return to good health. Apparently, doctors have advised Sam to keep away from public glare and rest for a couple of months. Given that the Indian version of the Russo Brothers’s thriller series — also starring Varun Dhawan — is slated to go on floors early next year, it remains to be seen if things proceed according to plan. Earlier this year, Sam was filming her next, Kushi, with Vijay Deverakonda, in Jammu and Kashmir.
A mid-summer B-O clash

We know that the makers of Mani Ratnam’s two-part action drama have announced that Ponniyin Selvan: 2 (PS: 2) releases on April 28, 2023. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vikram, Karthi, Trisha and Sobhita Dhulipala will reprise their roles in the historical fiction. Interestingly, the date was booked in advance by Karan Johar for his upcoming directorial venture, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. The romance musical stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, besides veterans like Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi. Let’s see which of the two films earns the big bucks at the box office.

Talking movies
Even though Rashmika Mandanna’s maiden Hindi release, Goodbye, didn’t heat up the box office, she remains equally sought after by Bollywood filmmakers. Recently, she was photographed while leaving Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s office. Interestingly, it was the Pushpa actor’s first meeting with the acclaimed filmmaker. That was enough to trigger speculation of a collaboration. Whether he will direct her in his next, or cast her in a new production is something only time will tell. After all, Bhansali is known to announce his projects only after things are finalised, and until then, the actors and the rest of the team are strictly forbidden from revealing anything to anyone.
