Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha will not promote their upcoming film, Ittefaq. Producer Karan Johar believes it would be difficult to talk about the mystery thriller without spilling details.

Speaking at the film's trailer launch yesterday, Johar said, "There will be no promotions as you never know what the actors might say. What if they say anything by mistake? We have decided to keep them away from promotions, no interviews... nothing. It's a producer's film."
The filmmaker added, "It is difficult to maintain the mystery of such films. It's going to be for the first time that we will have no promotions from the actor's perspective." Johar said it was great to revisit the thriller. He has been a fan of the original 1969 film of the same name that featured Rajesh Khanna and Nanda. "I have seen it four times. The remake is not a straight copy. It is new and different from the original." Directed by Abhay Chopra, the film also stars Akshaye Khanna. It is slated to release next month.
