A sweet movie and perennial Christmas favourite. <img alt="" src="/imagedata/2010/dec/elf.jpg" border="5" /> Elf (2003): Now, this is the story of an infant who crawled into Santa's sack while the man in red-and-white was busy delivering gifts at a New York orphanage. He is raised as an elf named Buddy and years later, when he's 30, finds out that he isn't one. He returns to NY to seek his father, who's on the "naughty" list. Will Ferell stars in this lovable family film. <img alt="" src="/imagedata/2010/dec/polar.jpg" border="5" /> The Polar Express (2004): An adventure that follows a doubting young boy, who takes an extraordinary train ride to the North Pole. During this ride, he embarks on a journey of self-discovery that shows him that the wonder of life never fades for those who believe. Great animation! <img alt="" src="/imagedata/2010/dec/lovea.jpg" border="5" /> Love, Actually (2003): Love arrives in many forms, shapes and sizes. Here, ten separate ufffd but intertwining ufffd stories of love all lead up to a big climax on Christmas Eve, proving that love is the driving force in all of these people's lives. A personal favourite. <img alt="" src="/imagedata/2010/dec/noel.jpg" border="5" /> Joyeux Noel aka Merry Christmas (2005): Based on true stories of the World War I Christmas Truce along the Western Front. The unthinkable happens: soldiers come out of their trenches, leaving their rifles behind to shake hands with the enemy for one night. Poignant stuff. <img alt="" src="/imagedata/2010/dec/carol.jpg" border="5" /> A Christmas Carol (2009): An animated retelling of Charles Dickens' classic novel about a Victorian-era miser taken on a journey of self-redemption, courtesy of several mysterious Christmas apparitions.
