As soon as Kriti's name was announced as the female lead recently, there was buzz that Athiya had been the first choice. Those in the know say Vijan was always keen to cast Kriti, who featured in his directorial venture, 'Raabta'.

But Athiya's brand manager had apparently approached Vijan and asked him to cast her. Despite the situation they find themselves in, they have been bonding on social media since the last few days. They were even spotted chatting at Deepika Padukone's bash recently. They behave as if nothing is amiss. No sharpened cat claws here either. Talk of being ladylike.
