Her commitment to indulge you with stylish, wearable clothes overpowers any desire to be hung up on A-list front rows, or put up an unbearable theatrical show. She belongs to a coterie of individuals with a solid foundation that comes from an education at NIFT, Delhi and FIT, New York; making not just her clothes, but her style sheet a lesson in silhouettes. The 30-odd pieces that she showcased were a reflection of the current mood to quit chasing the lure of what's enticing but fleeting, and savour everlasting values. Titled, The Jewel Mine, this predominantly black collection discovered smoky tones of charcoal (her favourite shade) accented with teals, burgundy, navy and metallics. Transcending the redundant borders of ethnicity and nationality, her clothes spoke a global language of evening wear, textured (foil quilting) detailed (sequin, stone, emb, ribbon, French knot) to perfection. The silhouettes stayed close to the body in fabrics like jersey, net, organza, silk taffeta, satin and light wool.
