The singer was renowned for his soulful ghazals and playback singing in films. The news of Pankaj Udhas' death has sent shockwaves throughout the entire music industry. 

Now, several celebrities, including singers Sonu Nigam and Anup Jalota, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and others have extended their condolences. Sonu Nigam took to his Instagram, posted an image of the legendary singer, and wrote, "One of the most important part of my childhood is lost today. Shri Pankaj Udhas ji, I will miss you forever. My heart cries knowing that you are no more. Thank you for being there. Om Shanti (sic)."
