The entertainment industry showered a lot of love and blessings on music maestro A. R. Rahman as he celebrated his 59th birthday on Tuesday, 6 January.

Celebrities send birthday wishes to A R Rahman


Mega Star Chiranjeevi called A.R. Rahman's music a timeless gift to the world in a heartfelt birthday post on X that read, "Dear arrahman garu, Wishing you a very happy birthday! Your music has always been a timeless gift to the world, creating chartbusters that resonate deeply with all of us. Best wishes and may you continue to spread joy through your music for many more years. (sic)"



Chiranjeevi's son and Telugu heartthrob, Ram Charan, also extended warm birthday wishes, thanking A. R Rahman for the musical magic he continues to create.

Expressing excitement over collaborating with the Oscar-winning composer on Peddi, he wrote on his Instagram handle, “Wishing arrahman sir a very Happy Birthday. Madhuri Dixit also paid a heartfelt tribute to A. R. Rahman by calling him a timeless musical genius whose compositions continue to inspire and emotionally connect audiences across generations.

Jackie Shroff applauded the composer’s soulful artistry and spiritual approach to music.

Rakul Preet Singh described A. R. Rahman as an icon whose work has shaped the soundscape of Indian cinema.

Ace composer S. Thaman credited Rahman for transforming the language of film music. He added that he continues to influence generations of composers with his craft.

Celebrated playback singer K.S. Chithra also highlighted the emotional depth and spiritual resonance that define A. R. Rahman’s compositions, calling his music timeless and universal. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin also conveyed his greetings, calling the composer the pride of the state and a cultural ambassador whose achievements have brought international recognition to Indian music.

A R Rahman celebrates birthday with Moonwalk team

The unit of director Manoj N S's upcoming film Moonwalk, featuring Prabhu Deva in the lead, celebrated A. R. Rahman's birthday at the grand audio launch event of the film by getting the ace musician to cut a cake on stage. 

The much-awaited grand audio launch event of Moonwalk turned into a musical night to remember as the evening featured electrifying live performances by A. R. Rahman and Prabhu Deva.

Excitement at the event peaked when A. R. Rahman made his first appearance on stage and immediately went on to perform all five Moonwalk songs live. The live performance sent fans into a frenzy, transforming the evening into a true celebration of music.

Prabhu Deva delivered a 10-minute dance tribute to A. R. Rahman, performing to all five Moonwalk songs. He also danced along with his co-stars Yogi Babu, Aju Varghese, Arjun Asokan, Satz, and choreographer Sekhar.

The evening concluded on a high note as Prabhu Deva brought A. R. Rahman back on stage, getting the maestro to shake a leg to the iconic Mukkala song. It was followed by a grand cake-cutting ceremony to celebrate A. R. Rahman’s birthday. The ace music director cut a cake along with the entire cast and crew of Moonwalk in the presence of over 10,000 fans.
