After being a part of some known TV shows, Ravie Dubey dabbled into production with his wife, Sargun Mehta. He is also a part of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, touted to be the biggest project of his career. As he essays the role of Lakshman, Lord Ram’s brother, in the film, the actor shares how the entire cast, including Ranbir Kapoor and Yash, prepared for the project, and it feels like a yagya.

In a podcast with Ranveer Allahbadia, Ravie expressed his gratitude to Nitesh Tiwari, Namit Malhotra, and Mukesh Chhabra for including him in the project. He further shared, “That role changed me. I had to transform myself to do justice to it because the audience can easily tell when you are faking it. I completely altered my routine. In fact, all of us did, including Ranbir Kapoor. He has sacrificed so much for this film. This feels more like a yagya. We all did everything in our power to stay true to these characters, in how we behave, react, and even speak.”

Ravie then elaborated on his earlier statement comparing the making of Ramayana to a yagya. “I have been on film sets for 25 years, and usually there’s a fair amount of chaos. But I have never seen a set run so seamlessly. Everything functions like clockwork. Not a single shift gets extended. Everyone is punctual, prepared, and completely surrendered to the commander of the ship, which in our case is Nitesh sir.”

Speaking about working with Ranbir Kapoor and Yash, Ravie said, “Ranbir has an incredible aura. He’s quiet, graceful, and deeply committed. He carries a very soft energy, and I think that’s something everyone who meets him would feel. Yash, on the other hand, is an extremely friendly person, very warm and genuine. Both of them are very different, yet equally kind-hearted.”

About Ramayana

Talking about Ramayana, the shoot of Part 1 is completed, and the makers have locked the runtime of the film. Earlier this month, Pinkvilla reported that the Ramayana makers will soon begin work on the film’s VFX.

While Ranbir Kapoor is playing the role of Ram, Sai Pallavi will be seen essaying the role of Sita. KGF star Yash will now be seen as Ravana in this movie. Apart from them, Sunny Deol, Kajal, Rakul Preet Singh, Arun Govil, Kunal Kapoor, Adinath Kothare, Sheeba Chaddha, Lara Dutta, and Indira Krishnan are also a part of this project. Ramayana will be released worldwide, with Part 1 on Diwali 2026 and Part 2 on Diwali 2027.
