After an exhaustive 75-day schedule that took them to Serbia, the Konkan region and Mumbai, director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari called it a wrap on her maiden web series, Faadu, last week. Little is known about the Saiyami Kher, Pavail Gulati and Abhilash Thapliyal-starrer besides the fact that it is a poetic love story. For Kher, the web series realised her long-cherished plan of collaborating with Iyer.

“Ashwiny ma’am was always on my wish-list. From Nil Battey Sannata [2015] to Bareilly Ki Barfi [2017] and Panga [2020], the women she created on screen have been a source of inspiration,” she says. Though she refuses to divulge details about her character, the actor notes that her part is fierce, exactly as Iyer likes her protagonists. “She is strong, rooted and poetic. My co-actors were so passionate and committed to the world we were creating. Working with them was a pleasure.” With the project behind her, Kher has moved to R Balki’s Ghoomer that will be shot in Dharamshala later this month.
