The actress will be seen with Akki in Aneez Bazmee's Thank You. The casting came as a surprise to many due to the age difference between the two stars. However, Bazmee claims that after he saw her in Delhi 6, he felt she was best-suited for the role. This will be Sonam's first comedy film. She has earlier starred in more artistically inclined films Saawariya and Delhi 6.
