What's it about: You think you've seen it all. That it will end for good, this time around. Especially, after number 3. Three's a charm and all that jazz? But no, people die the craziest, most bizarre deaths everyday and writer Eric and director Ellis couldn't resist bringing to screen the few that made the cut (sheesh, I really must stop punning!) in full-blown 3-D, for number 4.

The story is really the same as the previous three installments. Pretty people are picked out to die violently as are a few random characters. Random characters are killed off sooner than the pretty ones. There's an order to the madness here.

There's a premonition the hero sees. He saves a few of his buddies as well as some 'believers' and some losers, too by letting them in on his new powers. He sees dead people. In dreams and out of it too. The body count starts piling up. It's only a matter of time before they realise that you can outrun but not prevent death.

What's hot: The opening credits open pretty much the same way. With an X-Ray recap of all the previous deaths. It kinda lends a connect to all the past flicks in the franchise (if you have been keeping track).u00a0 The opening racetrack sequence is not to be missed.

Then, there's the matter of slicin'-n-dicin', and crashin'-n-burnin', which if you have the stomach for, will just whet your appetite enough to murmur for second helpings. At an hour and twenty-two (give and take a few minutes), it's pretty brisk and tolerable (almost like that short visit to the dentist's). That said, the 3-D rendering is actually quite good on this one.
