The movie was recently showcased at the film festival Vivek Oberoi has been part of hardcore commercial cinema so when he chooses to make his debut as a producer with a small film that follows the fortunes of an impoverished village couple, it comes as quite a surprise. u00a0 Watch Indian Circus, directed by Mangesh Hadawale was screened at the 16th Busan international film festival in Korea and he can't stop raving about it. <img alt="" src="/imagedata/2011/oct/Circus.jpg" border="5" /> A still from Watch Indian Circus "Watch Indian Circus is a true Indian film about Indians and the hardships they undergo. When the film came to me I felt that I needed to do my bit by getting it out for all to see and it was something that I believed in," he says. The film, set against the backdrop of corrupt local politics, is the tale of a couple that dreams of taking their children to the circus someday. However, it's clearly a very new space the actor is now adjusting with, but Vivek seems more than confident, wanting to support cinema with a message. "Box office economics dictate that Bollywood has to provide for its massive domestic audience that are usually looking for an escapist sort of world. u00a0 So I think it's only essential that the big studios shouldn't avoid producing films on real issues," he adds. Apparently he has chosen not to over-publicise the film, because he believes the content will speak for itself. At the moment, Vivek who has been busy with films like Zila Ghaziabad and prepping up for Krrish 2 also hopes to produce more films. <img alt="" src="/imagedata/2011/oct/vivek1.jpg" border="5" /> However, acting, he says, will always stay on the forefront. "I've been around in the industry for quite some time and I feel the time is right for me to venture into other facets of filmmaking. That doesn't mean that my acting career has taken a backseat; I'm an actor first and will always continue to do so," he concludes.
