Booktrust experts began with a list of 500 titles, which were skimmed down to 100, while being grouped into age categories. &lsquo;The Philosopher&rsquo;s Stone&rsquo; won in the 9-12 age group, and &lsquo;The Hungry Caterpillar&rsquo; was named as the ultimate book for children up to the age of five.u00a0
