<p>"Today, Kung Fury turns 1. Today, the future is written Stay tuned," Sandberg wrote.</p>
<p>The original film came from humble beginnings as a much shorter teaser trailer, reported Entertainment Weekly.</p>
<p>Thanks to generous funding through Kickstarter, Sandberg was able to develop his concept into a 30-minute film, which screened at the Cannes Film Festival. It later found distribution on Netflix.</p>
