Many believe reuniting with an ex is a bad idea, but for singer Miley Cyrus, break-up with Thor actor Liam Hemsworth in 2013 after four years together gave her time to grow up.
Miley was 17 and Liam, 20 when they met on the set of The Last Song (2010). Now, they are back together, engaged and rumoured to be married any time soon.
In an interview to a radio channel, Miley said getting back with Chris was always a possibility after they split. "I know that everything happens for the right reason. I knew that when we weren't together the first time. I didn't know if that was the end of it or knew if we'd be back together again, but knew that wherever I was going, I was on the right path," she said.
Miley added that break-ups can be difficult, but couples who split and later back together is "awesome".
"You get time to be yourself. You get time to grow up. Together, we get to be two really grounded people. It's not half and a half making a whole."
In another interview, the 24-year-old pop singer had explained why her breakup was necessary. "I needed to change so much," she was quoted as saying. "And changing with someone else not changing like that is too hard. Suddenly you are like, 'I don't recognise you anymore'. We had to refall for each other."
