The Santa Barbara International Film Festival organisers had announced in September this year that Dame Judi Dench would receive the Kirk Douglas Award for Excellence in Films. As part of the award presentation ceremony that is scheduled for today, Bollywood's recent export Ali Fazal will be delivering a speech at the gala in honour of his Victoria &amp; Abdul co-star.

Excited about the event, Fazal says, "It was an enriching experience to work with Judi Dench. She's a powerhouse of talent and I have learnt so much from her. Now, to be able to be on a platform honouring her is actually an honour for me."

Fazal will be one of Dench's three co-stars honouring her with a special tribute. He will be sharing the stage with veteran actor Jeff Bridges and Armie Hammer. Having worked closely with the celebrated actor, Fazal says that Dench has been a source of inspiration for him. "She's one of the most humble, hard working, energetic people I have met. It's a wonder how she has so much appetite to learn. I'm looking forward to seeing her again after two months in Santa Barbara. She's truly deserving of this award."
