Andrew Garfield is once again opening up about what Spider-Man can represent, and his answer remains as inclusive as ever. More than a decade after suggesting that Peter Parker could explore his sexuality, the actor has reaffirmed that he still believes anyone should be able to see themselves beneath the iconic mask.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly ahead of The Uprising, Garfield revisited the comments he made while promoting The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in 2013. At the time, the actor had playfully questioned why Peter's romantic storyline could not involve a man instead of Mary Jane Watson.
