Pop star Britney Spears was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI) in California on March 4. However, she was released a day later and asked to appear before the court. Her representative assured that she will take the right action. Amid this, reports are rife that the pop star has voluntarily stepped into a rehabilitation facility following her DUI arrest.

The Grammy-winning pop star voluntarily admitted herself to rehab after she was arrested in California on March 4 on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, reports deadline.com. According to sources close to the singer, entering treatment was seen as “the best step moving forward” after the incident. Those in her inner circle had reportedly been encouraging her to seek help.



People quoted a source saying, “She understands the seriousness of her situation and felt this was the best step moving forward. She’s now seeking treatment.”

Britney Spears was arrested for DUI in Ventura County, California, after being observed swerving in and out of lanes. She was booked and released early the next morning and is scheduled to appear in court on May 4. This incident marked a significant moment in her ongoing struggles with substance abuse.

A statement to the press released by a representative for the singer, obtained by deadline.com, noted at the time, “This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable. Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law, and hopefully this can be the first step in long-overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life.” The representative also shared that her family will be spending time with her and helping her during this phase.

“Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time. Her boys are going to be spending time with her. Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue, needed plan to set her up for success and well-being,” the statement read.

Spears shares two sons, Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, with her former husband, Kevin Federline.
