Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher, who passed away last December, will appear as Leia in 'Star Wars: Episode IX' in 2019. Carrie's daughter Billie Lourd and brother Todd Fisher have given the go-ahead to Disney to use her "recent footage" in the upcoming film in the Star Wars saga.
Leia will appear in this year's 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi', whose shoot was completed before the actress' death. In January this year, the makers had released a statement, saying they had "no plans to digitally recreate Carrie Fisher's performance as Princess or General Leia Organa."
