The 30-year-old actress will play the evil version of pop star Katy Perry&#39;s alter-ego Smurfette, in the follow up to the 2011 movie based on the Belgian comic characters, <img alt="" src="/imagedata/2012/apr/christina.jpg" /> Christina Ricci The Hollywood Reporter said. Much of the cast is expected to return for the sequel, which again sees Gosnell in the director&#39;s seat. The film will hit the theatres on July 31, 2013. Ricci most recently starred in the short-lived ABC series &#39;Pan Am&#39; and will appear in the perdiod drama &quot;Bel Ami&quot; with &quot;Twilight&quot; star Robert Pattinson and Uma Thurman.

"Addams Family" star Christina Ricci is all set to portray an animated character Vexi in the the "Smurfs" sequel.
