Los Angeles:&nbsp;'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' star Daisy Ridley has been signed on for the title role in the new 'Hamlet' version called 'Ophelia' in which Naomi Watts is going to play Queen Gertrude.

The film is adapted from Lisa Klein's young adult novel inspired by William Shakespeare's classic.
While the original story follows Hamlet, the Danish Prince, seeking revenge on his uncle, Claudius, who murdered his father, this new take focuses on Ophelia, the daughter of Claudius' chief advisor who falls for Hamlet, reported Ace Showbiz.
"Set in the 14th century but spoken in a contemporary voice, Ophelia will put the titular character center stage," producer Daniel Bobker said.
