Eddie Murphy is a top choice to host the 84th Academy Awards, say reports. The 50-year-old actor might be Oscar producer Brett Ratner's only proposed choice at an upcoming meeting with the Academy members.



Eddie has shown interest in accepting the gig. According to the reports, other big stars have approached another producer of the awards show Don Mischer with interest in hosting, but Brett has his eyes on Eddie!

Brett and Eddie collaborated on the upcoming film, Tower Heist, which hits theatres end of the year.
