Fast and Furious is arguably one of the most famous and loved franchises. With 10 films already a part of the franchise, all eyes are on the 11th addition. Fans have been eagerly waiting for the upcoming instalment, and now Vin Diesel, who has featured in 9 out of 10 Fast and Furious films, has shared an exciting new update that has sent fans gushing.

Vin Diesel hints at Paul Walker's return to Fast and Furious

On Saturday night, Vin Diesel, along with his Fast and Furious co-stars Tyrese Gibson and Cody Walker, were seen at Fuel Fest, a car enthusiast event in Pomona, California. During his appearance, Diesel addressed a crowd of fans about what to expect from the final Fast and Furious film, while also confirming a tentative release window of April 2027.

Diesel said, “The studio said to me, ‘Vin, can we please have the finale of Fast and Furious (in) April 2027?' I said, ‘Under three conditions.’ First, it is to bring the franchise back to L.A.! The second thing was to return to the car culture, to the street racing! The third thing was reuniting Dom and Brian O’Conner.”

How will Paul Walker return

For the unversed, Paul Walker died in a single-vehicle collision on November 30, 2013, at the age of 40. At the time of his death, Paul was still filming Fast and Furious 7. Vin Diesel’s recent comments are in line with the ones he made in 2023, wherein he teased a goodbye for the late Paul's character, Brian O'Conner.

The question now arises about how Dom and Brian will reunite for Fast and Furious X: Part 2. It is still unclear what Diesel actually meant by suggesting that Paul Walker’s cop turned street racer could return to the series. If Paul were to return in the final Fast and Furious, he would need to be digitally inserted.

The last instalment of the franchise, Fast and Furious X, was released in May 2023. The tenth instalment featured Vin Diesel, Alan Ritchson, Jason Momoa, Michelle Rodriguez, Rita Moreno, and Brie Larson, and went on to gross around $700 million globally.
