Washington: George Clooney's former girlfriend, Elisabetta Canalis, has recently married her orthopedic surgeon fiance, Brian Perri, in Italy.

The 36-year-old bride following her nuptials took to her Twitter account and expressed her gratitude to people in Italian for making this dream possible and thanked all for the affection they have shown on her, E! Online reported. Canalis and the 'Gravity' actor dated for two years before announcing their split in June 2011.

The pair released a joint statement at the time which stated "that they are not together anymore, which was very difficult and requested everyone to respect thei privacy.
