The Golden Globe Awards 2026 were held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles on Sunday night. The ceremony was hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser, who did not shy away from roasting audience members or taking digs at trending news surrounding the glamour world. She delivered an epic monologue to kick off the night, which is now trending on social media.

Here are some key takeaways from Nikki Glaser’s monologue:

Nikki Glaser jokes about Leonardo DiCaprio’s dating history, later apologises

Glaser roasted Leonardo DiCaprio, who was nominated for his film One Battle After Another. She poked fun at his well-known streak of dating women in their 20s.
“What a career you’ve had. I mean, countless iconic performances, you’ve worked with every great director. You’ve won three Golden Globes and an Oscar. And the most impressive thing is that you were able to accomplish all of that before your girlfriend turned 30. I mean, it’s just insane,” she joked.

Glaser quickly apologised, adding, “Leo, I’m sorry I made that joke. It’s cheap — I tried not to.” She continued, “But we don’t know anything else about you, man. There’s nothing else. I searched — the most in-depth interview you’ve ever given was in Teen Beat in 1991. Is your favourite food still ‘pasta, pasta, and more pasta’?”

Nikki Glaser on Epstein files and CBS News

During her monologue, Glaser also humorously suggested that some stars in the room might be named in the Epstein files. “There are so many A-listers here — and by A-listers, I mean people who are on a list that has been heavily redacted,” she said. “And the Golden Globe for Best Editing goes to the Justice Department.”

She also took a dig at CBS News over allegations that the network shelved a critical 60 Minutes story about the Trump administration sending immigrants to a prison in El Salvador.

“The award for most editing goes to CBS News,” Glaser added. “Yes, CBS News — America’s newest place to see BS news.”

Nikki Glaser on The Rock and Kevin Hart

Glaser then turned her attention to actors known for their comedic roles. “The Rock is nominated tonight, and luckily for him, the TV show The Paper is not, so he might win. Kevin Hart is here — The Rock’s plus one-half,” she said.

“Kevin and The Rock are like my favourite comedy duo. You’re like Steve Martin and Martin Short, but for people with under-50 IQ. Jumanji: The Next Level — was it?” she added.

Nikki Glaser takes a dig at Wicked

Glaser also didn’t spare Wicked, starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. Describing the film, she joked, “Wicked was back this year — with Wicked: For Money.”

She went on to say, “Once again, Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande gave us two career-defining performances. Two hours into that movie, I was in tears. I was like, ‘I can’t believe there’s still 45 minutes left.’ Ariana, I would listen to you sing the phone book. Grab the one Kevin Hart is sitting on tonight.”
