Johannesburg: Mexican filmmaker Guillermo Del Toro might soon direct the 'Fantastic Voyage' for James Cameron.

The 51-year-old director is rumoured to take on the remake of the 1966 sci-fi classic film. The story of the film is based on a team of medical scientists, who are shrunk to be sent in a miniature submarine inside the body of a fellow scientist to save his life, reports News24.com.

The original movie was directed by Richard Fleischer and starred Raquel Welch, Edmond O'Brien, Stephen Boyd and Donald Pleasence.
