Los Angeles: Swedish actress Noomi Rapace will play iconic opera singer Maria Callas in her upcoming biopic titled 'Callas'.
Niki Caro is attached to direct 'Callas' from a screenplay she adapted from Alsfonso Signorini's biography 'Too Proud, Too Fragile', reported Deadline.
The biopic focuses on the passionate relationship between the diva and Aristotle Onassis, which spanned almost two decades.
This is a long-gestating project that resurfaced in Cannes last year, before the 35-old-actress' involvement. It is now fully financed.
