Norwegian-Nigerian singer Tolou expresses her joy on performing for the Indian audience at Lollapalooza India. Reveals she is intrigued by the Indian music and would love to explore
Tolou
In January 2026, Tolou finally did what she had been meaning to do for months. The Norwegian-Nigerian singer met the Indian audience, among the biggest consumers of her music, when she performed at Lollapalooza India 2026. The concert also marked her maiden international festival as a performing artiste, making the moment particularly significant.
Since childhood, Tolou had been fascinated with Indian culture, food, and fashion, and her recent visit allowed her to immerse herself in all of it. What served as the cherry on the top was the love she received from the Indian audience. “The audience was present, loving, and welcoming. I could feel they were sucked into the performance. Certain songs are more vulnerable than others. I could see how those songs changed the mood of the audience. India is one of my top streaming countries. It’s one thing to see the numbers on streaming platforms, but to experience all the joy from the audience was amazing,” she smiled.
Beyond the stage, where she performed songs from her debut album Energy, Tolou explored the city and tried local cuisine. “I have always been very interested in Indian culture, food, and fashion. Indian food is my favourite. It's the best food I ever had in my life,” she said.
The musician added that Indian music also intrigued her. “I am inspired by the way they combine traditional music with global sounds.”
