The unexpected success of Obsession has now turned into a battle over who should get a piece of the film’s profits. Leonora Ann Darby, who worked as an excecutive producer on the Curry Barker-directed horror film has filed a lawsuit against James Harris and Mark Lane, the co-founders of Tea Shop Productions. She says she was promised a share of the profits but was denied what she claims was rightfully hers.

Producer sues Obsession's production house

According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter Darby says she had an agreement with Harris and Lane to be treated as a producer and to receive one-third of the net profits from films where she was the lead producer. She says this agreement was broken after Obsession became an international hit.
