Rs.5 crore opening weekend for 'The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug' in India

Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" started off on a good note at the Indian box office, managing to earn more than Rs. 5 crore just in three days.

It hit 287 Indian screens - in 213 3D screens and in 74 2D screens - Friday and raked in Rs.5.1 crore till Monday, said a statement.
