Los Angeles: Selena Gomez was away from the spotlight since quite sometime and the singer has revealed she was undergoing chemotherapy after being diagnosed with Lupus.

The 23-year-old former Disney star said her time-off was actually a chance for her to deal with the illness, reported People magazine.
"I was diagnosed with Lupus, and I've been through chemotherapy. That's what my break was really about. I could've had a stroke," Gomez said.
About the issue created for her break from the spotlight she said, "I wanted so badly to say, 'You guys have no idea.
I'm in chemotherapy. I locked myself away until I was confident and comfortable again."
