The plot revolves around multi-millionaire John du Pont (Steve Carell), who suffered from paranoid schizophrenia attacks and tragically shot his friend Schultz (Mark Ruffalo) in 1996, reports contactmusic.com.

It had emerged during John's trial that his long-time friend and Olympic gold-medallist Schultz was part of an international conspiracy to kill him. The shooting of the film will begin at the end of October in Pittsburgh.
