Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey has crossed the USD 300 million mark at the worldwide box office within its first week, but the film is now facing an unexpected controversy off-screen. The owners of a Viking longship replica used during the production have alleged that the vessel was returned with damage and that they were never reimbursed for the repair costs despite an earlier agreement.

According to The Guardian, the dispute involves the Vikingaleden association, a Swedish nonprofit that owns several Viking longship replicas, including the Glad av Gillberga, which was used in The Odyssey as a stand-in for an ancient Greek warship.
