Meanwhile, they are hunted by both professional killers and civilians for a $1 billion prize.
About The Running Man
In 2017, director Edgar Wright revealed on X (formerly Twitter) that he wished to remake the 1987 film The Running Man, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Notably, the 1987 film itself is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Stephen King. Eventually, it was made, and the film's first trailer was released on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. The trailer features a remix of Underdog by Sly and the Family Stone.
Notably, this is the second adaptation of the book following the 1987 film. The latest film stars Glen Powell, William H. Macy, Lee Pace, Emilia Jones, Michael Cera, Daniel Ezra, Sean Hayes, Jayme Lawson, Colman Domingo, and Josh Brolin in pivotal roles. It is helmed by Edgar Wright, with a screenplay co-written by Wright and Michael Bacall. The trailer teases high-stakes action sequences, raising the expectations for the film.
Paramount Pictures India releases the film on November 7 in India in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. Previously, the film was scheduled to be released on November 21, 2025, however, was preponed later.
