BLACKPINK has just made history. Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa formed the first K-pop girl group to play at London's Wembley Stadium, one of the world's most iconic venues. Members are slated to perform two nights in a row, Friday and Saturday, attracting about 78,000 people each night.
Following in the footsteps of Michael Jackson, Taylor Swift, BTS, and Oasis, the world's biggest female group lit up the sold-out stadium with a high-voltage performance on the first day. "What an absolute honour to be performing here at Wembley Stadium," Lisa exclaimed, looking out at the sea of people and taking in the loud cheers. "We're absolutely in awe of you guys for showing up and making this possible."
"It's an epic dream," Jennie explained. "And it still feels a little unreal." Rosé, visibly overwhelmed, stated: "The previous time we were here in London was insane, but this was on another level. We're grateful you remained around and supported us." Blackpink's Wembley show lasted two and a half hours and featured lasers, pyrotechnics, and their biggest hits, including Kill This Love and How You Like That, Pink Venom, Shut Down, Whistle, and DDU-DU DDU-DU. The YG entertainment group played their brand-new tune Jump for the first time during the second half of the event, which has already broken YouTube records with 26 million views in a single day.
BLACKPINK's Wembley concert delivered a huge visual punch that elevated the audience experience to new heights. The arrangement included a massive video wall divided into four screens, with each member receiving close-up attention, from individual fancams to choreography synchronized with fans waving pink lightsticks. At times, the trio even relaxed, abandoning tight choreography to connect with the audience, joke about, and energize supporters. Rosé paused mid-song to tie her shoelace, and the rest laughed it off. Soon, videos inundated social media, followed by viral memes.
Above all, fans were relieved that, despite separate efforts and their own labels (Lisa offering rockstar intensity, Rosé on ballads, Jennie in her bold era, and Jisoo delivering excellent vocals), BLACKPINK's stage relationship remained unshakeable. They concluded by hugging on stage, saying that this tour marks the beginning of a new chapter.
The Wembley events marked the end of the European part of their "Deadline" world tour, which includes 31 concerts in 16 cities worldwide. The tour began in Seoul in July, amid difficulties surrounding the group's disbandment after their individual contracts with YG expired last year. They will then travel to Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Japan, and finally Hong Kong in 2026.
