RM has come under scrutiny following reports that he was allegedly seen smoking in restricted public areas during BTS’ recent Japan visit for their Arirang world tour.
According to a report by Japanese outlet Shūkan Bunshun, the controversy began after the idol was spotted in Tokyo’s Shibuya district during a night out with acquaintances. The publication claimed RM was seen smoking in locations where it is strictly prohibited, including indoor hallways and public streets that enforce no-smoking rules. Japan has particularly stringent regulations around smoking, with designated zones clearly marked and violations often drawing public criticism.
