Actor Vivekh, who visited veteran director K Balachander Wednesday at Cauvery Hospital,&nbsp;said the auteur is showing signs of improvement.
Balachander was admitted to the hospital Monday and is being treated for urinary infection.
"Just coming out of hospital. Our legendary dir KB sir is showing signs of improvement. Our prayers will bring him bk. Plz don't believe rumors," Vivekh, who was launched in the movie industry by the filmmaker, posted on his Twitter page.
According to hospital sources, Balachander is still in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), but his condition is stable.
Since Monday, several actors, filmmakers and politicians have visited him in the hospital. Superstar Rajinikanth was one of the first actors to visit his guru after he learnt about his health condition.
Rajinikanth said that Balachander recognised him and smiled at him.
Balachander's favourite actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan, who is currently in Los Angeles busy with the post-production work of Tamil film 'Uttama Villain', conveyed through a video that he will visit him as soon as he is done with his work.
Kamal wishes to show the film to Balachander, who has played an important role in it.
Known for introducing several stars, Balachander has over 150 films to his credit. Some of his best films include 'Aval Ora Thodar Kathai', 'Avargal', 'Varumayin Niram Sigappu' and '47 Natkal'.
