The makers of the Rajinikanth-starrer 2.0 have announced that the sci-fi film will release in April. Over the weekend, creative producer Raju Mahalingam issued a statement about the release date. Shankar's film, which also stars Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson, was initially scheduled to hit the marquee this year on Diwali, but was postponed to Republic Day 2018. It was then pushed further as the special effects was taking time. Award-winning visual effects supervisor Srinivas Mohan is working on the VFX for the film.
