Case registered against Allu Arjun for violating poll code of conduct in Andhra Pradesh: Report

Following actor Allu Arjun's visit to Nandyala, Andhra Pradesh, to support MLA Shilpa Ravi Chandra Kishore Reddy, a complaint was filed against him, alleging a breach of the Model Code of Conduct.

India Today reported that a case was also lodged against Reddy, who is a member of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP).

According to the report, Allu Arjun and Reddy were accused of organizing a large public gathering at Reddy's residence on Saturday, which breached the code of conduct before the Andhra Pradesh elections scheduled for May 13. Allegedly, the MLA invited the actor without obtaining prior permission for the event. The FIR was filed under Section 144, which is in effect in Andhra Pradesh, by Deputy Tehsildar P Ramachandra Rao from Nandyala Rural.

Following his visit to Reddy's residence on Saturday, Allu Arjun explained the purpose behind his trip to Nandyala. According to the report, he stated, "I came here on my own. Among my friends, in whichever field they are in, I will step up and help them if they need my help. It doesn't mean I am backing or supporting any political party."

But what happened?

Amid the ongoing Lok Sabha Elections 2024, Telugu superstar Allu Arjun made a surprise visit to Nandyal with his wife Sneha Reddy to support YSRCP candidate and close friend Silpa Ravi Chandra Kishore Reddy. The duo were mobbed by a sea of fans who flocked to catch a glimpse of the actor. Thousands gathered around Reddy’s residence following which the police had to intervene and escort Allu safely into his friend’s house.

Sharing a glimpse from his meeting, Allu took to X and wrote, "Grateful to the people of Nandyal for the warm reception. Thank you, @SilpaRaviReddy garu, for the hospitality. Wishing you the very best in the elections and beyond. You have my unwavering love and support."

Allu’s visit came as a surprise since a couple of days back he sent his best wishes to his uncle Pawan Kalyan ahead of his election journey. Allu took to his X and wrote: “My heartfelt wishes to @PawanKalyan garu on your election journey. I have always been immensely proud of the path you've chosen, dedicating your life to service. As a family member, my love and support will always be with you. My best wishes for achieving all that you aspire for.”

Pawan Kalyan is the younger brother of Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi and Nagendra Babu. He is the uncle of actors Ram Charan, Varun Tej, Sai Dharam Tej, and Allu Arjun.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Allu Arjun is gearing up for the release of 'Pushpa 2: The Rule'. Last week, the makers unveiled the first single 'Pushpa Pushpa'.
