Soon after Vijay secured a historic win at teh Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections 2026 through his party, Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), a scene from his 2024 film GOAT began doing rounds on the internet. The scene specifically caught the eye since many saw a number plate in the scene as a hint at Vijay’s Chief Ministerial ambitions. As the clip continues to go viral, GOAT's director Venkat Prabhu and actor Premgi Amaren have now reacted to it, adding to the online buzz.

Interestingly, the now-viral scene had Vijay driving a car whose number plate read, 'TN 07 CM 2026.' The ‘CM’ referenced on the vehicle’s number plate has now turned into reality, with the 51-year-old actor-politician all set to take oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on May 8, 2026. Vijay's swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai.
