Dhyaan Sreenivasan-starrer Detective Ujjwalan is has made its OTT debut over a month after its theatrical release. The Malayalam-language film had a modest run at the box office and opened to mixed reviews. Directed by Indraneel Gopeekrishna and Rahul G, the film is backed by Sophia Paul, who also produced Malayalam cinema's first superhero film, Minnal Murali.

Detective Ujjwalan is now streaming on Netflix. The platform took to its social media handle to announce the premiere of the film.
“Case endhaayalum, Ujjwalan is always standing on business. Watch Detective Ujjwalan on Netflix, out 11 July in Malayalam," they captioned the post with a quirky poster of the film.
The film is currently available only in the Malayalam language.
What is Detective Ujjwalan about?
Dhyaan Sreenivasan plays the role of Ujjwalan, a local detective known for solving petty village crimes and leading a rather uneventful life. However, his world takes a dramatic turn when a mysterious outsider arrives in the village and challenges his investigative skills and intellect.
While Ujjwalan's rivalry with the outsider is initially seen as friendly, it soon takes an unsettling turn. Strange events begin to unfold in the village, and the once-peaceful place known for petty thefts starts witnessing serious crimes. Ujjwalan must put his skills to the test as he tries to uncover the truth behind the bizarre occurrences.
The new arrival’s actions not only disrupt the peace of the village but also deeply affect its residents. As tensions rise, Ujjwalan must rely on more than just logic—he must trust his instincts to uncover the truth. The story reaches a thrilling climax with a surprising connection to the Minnal Murali universe, adding an unexpected twist to Ujjwalan’s journey.
