Actor and filmmaker Huccha Venkat allegedly attempted suicide by drinking phenyl at his farmhouse on Sunday.
He is now recovering at a private hospital.
According to a report in <a title="Times of India" href="http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/entertainment/kannada/movies/news/huchcha-venkat-attempts-suicide/articleshow/59214242.cms" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Times of India</a>, Huccha Venkat apparently took the drastic step after his love interest Rachana refused to marry him. According to reports, he sent her a text message before trying to kill himself.
Huccha Venkat was paired up with Rachana in reality TV show 'Super Jodi 2'. Rachana, however, reportedly said that she was never in love with Huccha Venkat.
Venkataram Laxman aka Huccha Venkat is known as 'Firing Star' in Kannada film industry. He made his debut with 2005 film 'Mental Manja'. He married his live-in girlfriend Reshma, whom he met while working on 'Swathanthra Palya'. Huccha Venkat married Reshma in 2006, but separated in 2010.
