The makers of Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Jailer 2 have finally put the release-date rumours to rest by confirming the  final release date on social media. The confirmation comes amid recent reports suggesting that makers were considering reshooting since Rajinikanth was allegedly unhappy with some portions. The makers have revealed that the highly anticipated sequel is still on track to release in theatres on October 15, 2026, as originally announced.

Dismissing the reports of the film being postponed without directly mentioning the reports, Sun Pictures, which is backing the film, shared a social media post featuring a poster of Rajinikanth holding a gun. The poster also mentioned the October 15 release date along with the line, “Alappara Kelapparom."
