Jana Nayagan

Thalapathy Vijay’s last film, Jana Nayagan, is making noise for quite some time. However, it has found itself in hot waters for the wrong reasons. After the trailer was released, some eagle-eyed fans spotted the Gemini AI logo watermark. The discovery has led to criticism online, with many calling it embarrassing and disrespectful, while slamming the makers.

Fans spot AI logo in Jana Nayagan trailer

The 2-minute-52-second trailer premiered on YouTube in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi, and garnered millions of views within hours of its release. However, a detail in the trailer appeared to go unnoticed by many until a few netizens pointed it out on social media. Soon after the trailer dropped, social media users pointed out a brief visual at the 00:23-second mark, where a man holding a machine gun appears on screen. In the shot, the Gemini AI logo was clearly visible at the bottom-right corner, suggesting that artificial intelligence may have been used for the visual.

The detail went viral, with many movie lovers expressing disappointment. Interestingly, by Sunday morning (January 4), the Gemini logo was no longer visible in the trailer, indicating that the makers may have quietly replaced or corrected the visual.

Fans’ reaction to AI logo spotting

After the glitch came into cognizance, despite the correction, the trailer faced massive trolling on Reddit and Twitter. A Reddit user wrote, "Hate it when people try to find the easier path rather than fighting and working for it… directors like this need their jobs taken away by AI." A Twitter user wrote, “Using Google Gemini AI shots in the trailer even without removing the logo is shocking!! Using AI for such simple shots is alarming & raising doubts on filmmaking standards!!”

“Using Gemini AI for remake movie too,” commented a person. “Such a rookie mistake, team of JanaNayaganTrailer. Who is the editor lmfao.” Another wrote, "400-crore budget, but what is this, man?”

Despite the flak, the anticipation for the film remains high as it will be Vijay's last release before he becomes a full-time politician with his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam.
