Nag Ashwin has offered a key update on the much-awaited sequel to Kalki 2898 AD, confirming that the upcoming film will not bring in any major new faces. The director’s statement also raises questions about how the sequel will move forward without Deepika Padukone, whose character played a crucial role in the first instalment.

Speaking to Variety India, Ashwin was asked whether audiences could expect any fresh additions to the cast. The filmmaker made it clear that the sequel will continue building on the characters already introduced. “No new additions. We are continuing with the story we started, and there are already so many characters in it,” he said.
