While attending a recent event at Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, the actor was questioned about the film's sequel. She revealed that the sequel is currently in the scripting stage and is expected to begin filming in the second half of this year. “Lokah 2 script work is going on. Hopefully, shooting will begin in September. Yes, I’m part of the film, so wait for it,” she shared while confirming her return to the franchise.

Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra was helmed by Dominic Arun and blended folklore, fantasy, and emotional drama. Kalyani essayed the role of Chandra, aka Kalliyankattu Neeli, in the film. She played a supernatural being navigating challenges in the modern world.

With its rooted storytelling, large-scale visuals, and strong performance, Lokah went on to become the highest-grossing Malayalam release to date. The film reportedly crossed the Rs 300-crore mark worldwide. Additionally, it also stood out as Malayalam cinema’s first female superhero film, as Chandra took on the antagonist Nachiyappa.
