All eyes are on Prithviraj Sukumaran and Mohanlal for Lucifer 3, following their L2: Empuraan made Rs 265.5 crore worldwide. According to recent sources, Prithviraj referred to the Lucifer series picture as India's 'most expensive' film, among other facts. His crew, Poffactio, took to social media to dispel the rumours, labeling them a 'hate campaign' against the actor-director.

Prithviraj's team posted images of several headlines claiming, "Lucifer 3 will be the biggest and most expensive film in Indian cinema and will feature underwater action, says star Prithviraj Sukumaran."

Prithviraj's team issued a statement

They said that they 'express disappointment' about the 'false report' that Prithviraj never uttered these statements. They further stated, "It appears that this misinformation came from a bogus profile ID as part of a hate campaign. To clarify the truth to the public and Prithviraj's supporters, we request that all channels cross-check facts before reporting and republish revised news. We anticipate a competent approach to this situation. "Thank you."

His team shared the note on both X (previously Twitter) and Instagram.

Lucifer is a highly successful film franchise in Malayalam cinema. The first film in the franchise, starring Mohanlal as Stephen Nedumpally aka Khureshi Abram, was released in 2019, with the second, L2: Empuraan, following in 2025. L3: The Beginning is likely to be the final installment in the political action franchise. Mohanlal's son Pranav will play a young Khureshi in the next film. L2 is the highest-grossing Malayalam movie.

What has Prithviraj been upto

In addition to L2, Prithviraj has lately appeared in Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. His Hindi film Sarzameen, which stars Kajol and Ibrahim Ali Khan, was recently released on JioHotstar. He will soon appear in Malayalam films Vilayath Buddha, Santhosh Trophy, and Nobody, as well as SS Rajamouli's untitled Telugu movie alongside Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra.

Earlier, it was also reported that ahead of the polls, Parvathi told the press that Baburaj, who had been accused of sexual abuse by a younger artiste, refused to resign as AMMA's joint secretary. Baburaj is now running for the position of general secretary in the elections.

On Manorama translated what she said in Malayalam as follows: “Over the years, we have seen accused persons being removed from key posts. This has been evident in AMMA since Dileep’s case came to light. Vijay Babu, who was also accused of sexual abuse, was asked to resign, and we expect Baburaj to do the same. Mohanlal had to step down because Baburaj is unwilling to do so.” Artists such as Ansiba and Sarayu have reportedly claimed that accused actors, like accused politicians, can contest in the association's elections.
