The Telangana High Court extended its interim order on Monday, wherein it suspended the ticket price hike for Pawan Kalyan's recent release, They Call Him OG. According to the order, the tickets for the much-anticipated action thriller will continue to be priced normally. Additionally, theatres cannot add a blockbuster charge to the existing prices as had been planned. Amid this back and forth, the producing banner, DVV Entertainment, posted a sarcastic tweet on Monday, wherein they allegedly roasted the petitioner who had asked for the price hike to be rolled back. However, since the court ruled against them, the production house deleted the tweet, which attracted a lots of online ridicule aimed at the producers.

Pawan Kalyan's OF makers mock the petitioner

On Monday, DVV Entertainment, the production house behind They Call Him OG, took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “Telangana HC extends interim order suspending the TheyCallHimOG ticket price memo, applicable only to petitioner Barla Mallesh Yadav. So we're offering him a Rs 100 discount on his ticket at any Nizam theatre!”

Further addressing the petitioner directly, the tweet further added, "Mallesh garu, hope you also enjoy the film like our fans did (heart emoji)." For the unversed, Barla Mallesh Yadav is the individual who had moved the Telangana High Court against the proposed ticket price hike for OG. He argued that the price hike makes the film too expensive for the average cinema viewer.

Internet takes a dig at makers

As the HC extended their earlier interim order on Monday, it became clear that the suspension was for all of Telangana state and not merely for the petitioner. As a result, DVV Entertainment took down the tweet promptly. This did not stop the internet from taking potshots at them.

The screenshot of the now-deleted tweet was shared on Reddit, wherein one person commented, "When you seek more than mere entertainment from movies, you are more likely to be mocked by the people who should entertain you." Another user suggested, "This was egg on face moment."

Despite the suspension of the price hike, the film has done well at the box office, and earned over Rs 147 crore net domestically and Rs 265 crore gross worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing Telugu film of the year and also the highest-grossing film of Pawan Kalyan's career.
