Malayalam superstar Mammootty is back to duty after a short medical break. The actor has taken a brief break from cinema for his medical treatment. It was rumoured that the actor was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Reportedly, the actor has been certified fit by doctors and will shortly resume work. According to the report, Mammootty who was being treated in Chennai received his test results on Tuesday morning and it is all looking good. He is expected to come back to Kerala and resume shoot for Mahesh Narayanan's film in September.

Mammootty is back

Noted film producer Anto Joseph took to social media and shared an update on Mammootty's recovery. "The prayers of many people around the world have borne fruit, thank you God, thank you, thank you,"...

"I stand before you with folded hands, eyes filled with joy. To those who prayed, to those who stood by, to those who consoled me by saying that nothing would happen, to those who loved me with endless love...thank you," wrote George, Mammootty's childhood companion.

Many well-wishers of Mammootty took to social media to welcome him back and expressed joy at his good health.

Mammootty's health scare

Earlier, this year it was rumoured that Mammmottty has been diagnosed with cancer. The Malayalam film superstar's PRO, based in Kerala, told mid-day that it is fake news. They said, “Reacting to reports suggesting that Mammootty is diagnosed with cancer, the veteran’s PR said, “It is fake news. He is on vacation because he is fasting for Ramzan. He is on a break from his shoot schedule as well because of that. In fact, after the break he will go back to shooting for Mahesh Narayanan’s film with Mohanlal.”

Mammootty's work front

Mammootty’s production house, Mammootty Kampany, shared a new poster of the actor’s upcoming film Kalamkaval on Sunday. The film is directed by Jithin K Jose. The makers have not revealed the release date of the film. The poster features Mammootty sitting on a chair with a menacing expression framed against the backdrop of a giant web.

Taking to his Instagram handle, Mammootty Kampany shared a poster with a caption stating, "What lies beneath is deadlier than you think. Kalamkaval On The Way."

As per the poster, the film is expected to feature Mammootty in what is said to be a powerful anti-hero role, while Vinayakan also plays a pivotal character in the film. The screenplay has been penned by Jishnu Sreekumar along with Jithin.

The movie will mark the seventh production venture under the Mammootty Kampany banner. Kalamkaval marks Jithin K. Jose’s directorial debut. He is best known as the writer of the Dulquer Salmaan-starrer Kurup, which emerged as a major success at the box office in 2021.
